It is bright gold and shows off a huge rocky white head. Pear, pepper, lemon and clove are in the nose with a fairly intense aroma. A wisp of sweetness up front gives way to flavors of lemon, Chardonnay and clove. The light, effervescent mouthfeel gives Westmalle Tripel a brisk, peppery finish. Hops are herbal up front and average in bitterness in the end. Big, but slender and crisp, this is tripel at its best.
